February Is Canned Food Month

canned food driveFebruary is recognized as canned food month. We think this is a great time to clean out your cupboards and make a donation to a local food pantry. Here in Princeton, West Virginia, and the surrounding area, there are numerous locations that offer food pantries.

Food pantries are always in need of donations and volunteers. Contact these pantries below to see if they are accepting donations or need any other help.

  • Tender Mercies Ministries. This inter-faith group located in Princeton is located at 4001 West Main Street. Call 304-425-2557 for more information.
  • Operation Blessing. This food pantry serves Mercer County and is located at 2nd and Highlands Avenue. The pantry hours are Wednesdays from 9am through noon. Call 304-425-4740 for donation information.
  • Salvation Army. This Princeton location serves Mercer, Monroe, and Summers Counties and is open Monday-Friday from 9am through 4pm. It is located at 300 Princeton Avenue. Call 304-425-2971 for more information.
  • Burke Memorial Baptist Church. On Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30am through 12:30pm, this church operates its food pantry. It is located at 501 Thorn Street in Princeton. Call 304-425-4945 to find out how to help.
