Every year, the Bewick’s swan makes its annual trip from the Russian Artic to the United Kingdom. Sacha Dench, a pilot, follows the swans on their journey of more than 4,500 miles in an effort to bring attention to their flight. This year, Mitsubishi will be joining the swans and Dench by providing five support vehicles that will make the journey as well.
Three Mitsubishi L200s, a pickup truck, and two Shogun SUVs will follow the swans from the Russian Artic to their destination in Gloucestershire, United Kingdom. As the swans cross over 11 countries, the Mitsubishi models will pass through them.
Mitsubishi’s Flight of the Swans expedition won’t be easy which is why top engineers are helping the vehicles gear up for the journey. Most of the modifications provide additional power sources used for charging equipment as well as a 240-volt converter. Off-road tires and roof racks also made their way onto the short list.
While Dench travels with the swans through the air via paramotor, the Mitsubishi vehicles will test their metal on the 4,500 mile trek. The Flight of the Swans began earlier this month and lasts a total of 10 weeks. Versatility is key as Dench could run into trouble and rely on the Mitsubishi vehicles at any moment.
Here at Pantili Mitsubishi, we’re glad to see Mitsubishi stepping up to new challenges every day!
