Mitsubishi EVO vs. Subaru Impreza WRX STI is one of those never-ending rivalries in the world of automotive enthusiasts, and ultimately the one best-suited to you will come down to personal preference. But we can come up with at least three reasons why we think the Mitsubishi EVO has the upper hand.
1 – The Handling
The EVO feels sharper and more grounded than the STI while still being light. The chassis is more responsive, in large part thanks to advanced Super All Wheel Control (S-AWC) that combines an active center diff with active yaw control, active stability control, and a sport ABS system. It helps create the best possible traction in all scenarios and helps make you feel more confident as a driver.
2 – The Sound
The EVO lets out a smooth, low grumble when you step on the gas. By comparison, the STI sounds like it’s rapidly misfiring or clearing its throat. Even with the stock exhaust, the EVO’s sound make you feel like you’re driving a massively fast car. With the STI, you almost have to get an aftermarket exhaust to get a satisfying sound out of it, but then you’ll annoy the whole neighborhood.
3 – The Looks
We just love how the EVO looks on our lot at Pantili Mitsubishi. It conveys a sense of power without overdoing it and features two more practical vents on the hood than the STI, which are more streamlined and less obstructive of the driver’s view. It also has functional fender vents that not only help cool the brakes and release the air normally trapped in the wheel but also make the EVO look more like a rally car.
